About the Role
We’re looking for a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager (BESS) to lead our growth in the rapidly evolving German energy storage market. You’ll play a key role in identifying, developing, and closing opportunities for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), shaping the future of clean energy across Germany.
As part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team, you’ll work closely with utilities, aggregators, and industrial customers to create impactful projects that accelerate the energy transition.
Key Responsibilities

  • Originate, structure, and manage BESS projects from concept to contract.
  • Develop and nurture partnerships with DSOs/TSOs, aggregators, EPCs, and commercial & industrial (C&I) clients.
  • Navigate German energy market regulations (including EEG, EnWG, Redispatch 2.0) and ensure compliance with grid connection requirements.
  • Design commercial offers, perform market and revenue analysis, and lead negotiations through to successful deal closure.
  • Maintain accurate reporting through CRM and pipeline management, ensuring transparent forecasting and performance tracking.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, finance, and regulatory teams to optimize project delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in energy business development, project origination, or sales.
  • Deep understanding of the German power market, grid codes, and BESS revenue models (arbitrage, ancillary services, balancing, etc.).
  • Proven commercial acumen with strong financial modelling and contract negotiation skills.
  • Established network within the energy storage, renewable, and grid ecosystem.
  • Experience with PV or wind co-location projects and participation in ancillary service markets.
  • Knowledge of EU Battery Regulation and relevant permitting frameworks.
  • Fluency in German (C1+) and English.
  • Willingness to travel across Germany for business development and partner engagement.
