As a Student Assistant, you will become an integral part of our Operations Team. You will support the financial management of our international programs while helping coordinate our Friends of Aspen membership network. Along the way, you will gain hands-on experience in budgeting, grant administration, financial reporting, membership relations, and the day-to-day management of an internationally active think tank.
The position is for 20 hours per week, initially for one year, with the prospect of extension.
Your Responsibilities

  • Support budgeting, controlling, and financial administration;
  • Prepare financial reports and budget analyses;
  • Assist with reporting to public and private funders;
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses;
  • Support finance administration;
  • Coordinate the Friends of Aspen membership program;
  • Maintain the membership database;
  • Support invoicing and membership administration;
  • Communicate with members and assist with events and outreach;

Your Profile

  • You enjoy working with numbers and have strong analytical skills, particularly in budgeting, controlling, and financial reporting.
  • Ideally, you have gained initial experience preparing financial reports, budget-to-actual analyses, or ad hoc analyses through an internship or student position.
  • Experience with membership management, database administration, or invoice and membership fee administration is an asset.
  • You are comfortable working with digital tools and are interested in contributing to the implementation of a new membership management system.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • You are an excellent communicator who enjoys interacting with members and supporting events and member communications.
  • You are well organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • You have an excellent command of both German and English.
